Stephanie Chan is a Registered Music Therapist and a Certified Thanatologist (ADEC) specializing in the intersection of music therapy, palliative and bereavement care. Stephanie provides clinical music therapy for individuals facing life-limiting illnesses, including cancer participants, people in recovery, and those with mobility, cognitive, or sensory support needs.
Currently, Stephanie collaborates with various NGOs to enhance physical, psychosocial and spiritual well-being through music therapy. Her work extends to the Jockey Club Home for Hospice, where she provides pro bono services to residents in palliative care. As a practitioner in death education, she works with the social enterprise "Minimal Funeral," using music innovatively to facilitate difficult conversations around mortality. Stephanie’s practice is rooted in the belief that music is a powerful medium for connection, offering a nurturing presence for those navigating the complexities of loss and the end of life.
